    Over Dr. Vandeputte

Dr. Frans-Jozef Vandeputte is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in muscle-sparing surgery of the hip and pelvis. In addition to degenerative and traumatic conditions, his focus is also on revision surgery and sports injuries.

He is a staff member at Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg and was trained during his surgical residency by, among others, Prof. Dr. Corten and Dr. Ronald Driesen. Afterwards, he visited international centres for targeted further training. Meanwhile, he passes on that expertise himself and is actively involved in the training of both domestic and foreign surgeons.

His doctoral research at Hasselt University focuses on 'The role of the peri-articular muscle envelope in the direct anterior approach'. He emphasises the importance of scientifically based innovation.

Dr. Vandeputte strongly believes in multidisciplinary consultation to be able to tackle complex pathology as a team. The surgical aspect is only one part of a treatment pathway; support from Hip Coaches and care coordinators is essential.
