Dr. Cigdem Sarac

Dr. Cigdem Sarac is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon. Since 2020 she has been working in the orthopaedic team together with Prof. Dr. Kristoff Corten, and she is also lead surgeon at the Park Medical Centre in Rotterdam. Dr. Sarac is specialised in the anterior approach for hip replacement surgery.

The anterior approach is a muscle-sparing access route to the hip joint that prevents muscle damage when placing a hip prosthesis. This approach has been perfected with attention to every detail of the procedure. As a result, the complication risk is reduced to an absolute minimum, with a dislocation risk of less than 0.1%.

The instruments used during the operation have been specially developed to allow the procedure to run perfectly, with less tissue damage and a shorter operating time. A renowned prosthesis with a survival rate of at least 20 years is used.

Dr. Sarac has gained extensive experience in an internationally renowned knowledge centre where approximately 800 hip prostheses are placed each year.
